Workflow

Give a task, review the result, accept it — with the task bar, review card, inbox and status bar.

OpenCognit is built for leading agents instead of typing yourself: you give a task, an agent works, you review the result and decide. Four building blocks make that easy — grid, side panel and terminals stay as they are.

Task bar

In the toolbar (Ctrl+Shift+A) you write one sentence, e.g. “make the pricing page look great on mobile”. OpenCognit suggests a fitting agent and tells you why (e.g. “good at interfaces and design”); one click picks another.

  • Start (Enter) — the agent works in its own worktree (own branch); a snapshot is taken first.
  • As variants — the same task to two agents, to compare.

The suggestion follows simple rules (keywords in the task, who is free) — no AI, no tokens.

Review card

When an agent finishes a round with changes, a review card appears top right: which files changed, whether tests pass, how long the round took. Below it:

  • Accept — for an agent in its own worktree: copy the changes into the project (no commit, snapshot first).
  • Refine … — send a wish to the same agent.
  • Discard — all files return to the state before the round (the current state is saved first, see time travel).
  • View changes — opens the diff.

Several cards stack; use the arrows to page through them.

Inbox

In the status bar, the inbox collects everything waiting for you — across all agents of the project: approvals, questions, failing tests, finished rounds and reached limits. J / K selects, Enter handles the entry (e.g. grant an approval, “let it fix”).

Status bar

The bar at the bottom always shows: branch with ahead/behind, how many agents are working, the inbox, limits, test status, CLI quota and the license. Every entry takes you where you handle it.

So agents don’t ask about every little thing, threads only ask for risky actions — see Threads & approvals.
